The Pune District Education Association (PDEA), founded on 7th September 1941 by the visionary educationist Shri Baburaoji Gholap, was established with a noble mission: to provide accessible and quality education to students across all strata of society, especially in the rural regions of Pune district. Inspired by the guiding principle "Bahujan Hitaay, Bahujan Sukhaay"-meaning "For the benefit and happiness of the majority"-PDEA remains committed to creating educational opportunities that uplift communities and foster societal progress.
Over the decades, the association has been shaped and supported by several eminent leaders and education reformers, including Annasaheb Awate and Mamasaheb Mohol, whose dedication laid a strong foundation for its growth. Today, PDEA flourishes under the dynamic leadership of its President, Hon. Shri Ajitdada Pawar, who also serves as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. His strategic vision continues to steer the organization toward educational excellence and inclusivity.
From its humble beginnings, PDEA has expanded into a vast educational network, operating a wide array of institutions that cater to diverse academic and professional aspirations. The association manages Professional Colleges, Senior and Junior Colleges, Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools, and CBSE-Affiliated Schools.
These institutions offer comprehensive academic programs across the streams of Arts, Commerce, and Science, blending traditional knowledge with modern educational practices. With a steadfast focus on holistic development, PDEA remains a pillar of learning and empowerment for countless students, reaffirming its legacy as a beacon of education in Maharashtra.
